Drummer Lee Rigby RRF

Wherever you are you will have heard of the barbaric murder yesterday in Woolwich, London. Drummer Lee Rigby, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was murdered on the street in his capital city. His murderers appear to have been Islamists. Like other Islamist murderers and potential murderers arrested in the last few years in the UK, they appear to have been British citizens, or, at least, to have lived here for many years. The sense of horror, sadness, and anger that many of us feel overlies a sense of bewilderment - what has happened to England, to Britain?  And when were we asked whether we agreed?

Drummer Lee Rigby, son, husband, father, Englishman, British soldier.RIP.

    1. Yes, indeed. There's a Help for Heroes site for donations in Drummer Rigby's name. I'm against the war in Afghan (and was very much against the New Labour onslaught on Iraq), but I'm damned if British soldiers are to be foully murdered in Britain by their, so-called, fellow countrymen!

    1. Yes. Oz, NZ, USA, England, UK ... threatened by the mad Islamists. We need to leave them to it in their own countries, but they need to take on our values or piss off.

    1. Yup. Amen. Jesus Christ (a Jewish rabbi at the least, and the Son of God at the most) wasn't a war lord, or a killer, and he revisited the Old Testament and changed its whole basis, challenging the Abrahmic code (as other Jews were doing). Turn the other cheek he said, as the basis of His religion, not strike the heads from the infidel, as a certain war lord said.

  4. I spent the first nine years of my life in a suburb of North London, until 1975. Over the course of the intervening decades the Capital has changed from a predominantly English city to what it is now. Nobody asked me or anyone else whether this is what we wanted; it didn't happen by chance but by the decision of the political elites who 'we' supposedly chose. I fear that it is too late to do anything. 'We are born into this time and must bravely follow the path to the destined end'...

    1. Indeed. We're f*****. I've quoted this before, but that mad woolly haired loony, Robert Graves, said a lot in his 'The Cuirassiers of the Frontier': 'A gaping silken dragon,/Puffed by the wind, suffices us for God./We, not the City, are the Empire's soul: A rotten tree lives only in its rind.' These are the end times for many of us - I only wish I could pack in my daily life and go to the furthest edge of our 'rind', read stuff like Alfred Duggan's novels, grow food and flowers, do some rough shooting and some sea angling, and wait to be buried, like a Christian.
