The plastic and lead godlets of war rejoice!
The Hobbit Bunker, dedicated to tabletop war, is complete, and a fire has been lit, consecrating its divine purpose:
A fine piece of Norwegian cast iron work.
And the English weather is doing its stuff - cold and wet. But, inside, it is warm. Aaaaah.
Let the games commence!
Very nice stove. I rejoice for you Sir.
ReplyDeleteMy thanks! It is an absolute delight. I give thanks.
DeleteThat's a gorgeous stove, all you need is a copper kettle! :)
ReplyDeleteA rare beast too, apparently. The stove engineer had not seen the likes before. I don't have a copper kettle, but I do have (in the damned loft) a very nice cowboy/wild west coffee pot...
DeleteBrilliant stove you have there !
ReplyDeleteIf I were king for a day I would gift one (and an accompanying shed) to all good wargaming fellows.
DeleteYou could toast doormice on that ;)
ReplyDeleteFMB
Mmmm. Now you mention it...do you think neighbourhood cats would do as well ?
Delete(What's 'FMB' - I can only think of really rude things that it might stand for. I hope I'm wrong!)
Dear FMB,
DeleteI woke at 3 this morning, and it came to me - in a flash of genuis - 'FMB' means Firemonkeyboy! Who'd have though?! D'oh!

I feel as happy as a caveman who has been introduced to fire just at the same time as he found his pebbles (wooden) board game.
DeleteMarvelous! I look forward to the logs drying by the stove. All we need now is enough snow to keep you home and let the games begin. The ability to keep games up for a ffew days is not to be taken lightly.I have been using the dining room table of let and it has worked well as we live and move and have our being mainly in the kitchen extension.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how a good, sit in, kitchen is more homely than a typical living room. But, perhaps, in the future, you might consider a wood burner for your beautiful shed?
