New 42s...

... Regiment Nr 1:

Irregular. A rather fine 'march attack' pose.

Generic. Imagi-war, late 19th Century - pre-1914 period. Somewhere Mittel Europa, or Balkans (no, no, not England in the early 21st century!)

And...

This first rate artillery officer, in classic toy soldier pose.

    1. Yes, if one was so inclined it would be possible to build a great collection of binoculars/arm up officer poses.

    1. Yes, they've got that spirit of the old school, but often with enough detail to be painted up in a modern fashion. Top banana!

Great looking unit and I would like to see a photo of one of your chaps beside the Guinness steam lorry. What make is the steam lorry by the way?I too have been thinking of 40/42mm figures of late and have taken the plunge.Table top rather than floor Little Wars is the order of the day at present I feel.

    1. Cheers, Alan. It's a Matchbox, from the mid-1980s - plenty on ebay. Table top is just the ticket - no bad back/knees, you can leave the set up out, and the terrible 'foot mortar' is no longer a danger to the figures.

  4. I do like that brown and blue combo. Reminds me of swoppet Confederates in butternut.
