Slabs of plastic...

... that just about sums up the blasted Mig 15 kit I'm still struggling with. The current state of play is:

The fuselage fitted where it touched, and there were plenty of places where it didn't ! So, after much heavy filling, and sanding, particularly to reshape the front fuselage where it meets the intake (it is supposed to be a smooth match, but there was no way the intake could be made to sit close to the fuselage contours without filling and industrial levels of sanding), I was able to add wings and tailplane this evening. Inevitably, there will be wing root filling and sanding. I might, eventually, get some paint on this thing. Eventually.

    1. Yup! This thing will be more filler than plastic by the time I've finished - it's a reminder of why little plastic/lead men, and AFVs are much more calming for the (impatient) modeller.

  2. I'm looking at the wing roots on my typhoon and wishing I'd done a much better job with them. They're rather distinct.

    1. They're a nightmare, I agree. I'm never sure when I've got it right, and, inevitably, once the paint & decals are on I see a bloody great flaw.

    1. Lego - the wonder toy! Been using it since c.1963, and now playing with it with my grandson. Though it is far from the simple bricks and wheels in a few primary colours that remember.
